Subject: RE: [uddi-spec] Errata for SCC14N

Many may not realize that ISO/MPEG and XRML are making normative references to SCC14N dated 20020710. Furthermore there are a number of implementors that have not yet had a chance or are far enough in the implementation of SCC14N to weigh in with further input on the spec. Nonetheless we need to advise them of this issues.

I'd like to suggest the following course of action on this CR:
1) we will create an errata document and advise ISO/MPEG, XRML and implementors of this errata;
2) we add a link in the existing 20020710 spec to point to this errata document;
3) we rev the spec to 1.0.1 (rolling up this and other errata) later (e.g. sometime this summer) when implementors have had a chance to weigh in and then submit UDDI v3.0.2 and SCC14N 1.0.1 to OASIS for Standardization.
For consideration and discussion during Tuesday's telecon.

Tony: could you please add this to the agenda?

Thanks,
Luc

Subject: [uddi-spec] Errata for SCC14N

Folks,

A small bug in the Schema Centric Canonicalization algorithm (part of UDDI v3) specification has been discovered. In short, whitespace in element-only content wasn’t fully canonicalized. The fix is straightforward, but will require an errata / update to the spec. Attached please find a change request covering this problem.

Thanks.

                SCC14N is my fault (:-)
