Subject: UDDI Member Section Steering Committee Nominations
The OASIS UDDI Member Section is seeking nominations for OASIS members who are interested in joining the UDDI Member Section Steering Committee. Nominations must be made by a member of the Member Section, nominees need not be. The UDDI MS SC is responsible for supporting the Technical Committee by promoting the understanding and adoption of this important and highly visible standard for Web services and service oriented architecture (SOA). Member Section Steering Committee members are required to attend monthly meetings and engage in various activities in support of the UDDI standard. Those persons elected in this process will hold that seat for 1 year. In the last year the MS SC has worked on project with Gartner Research, launched Version Three of the specification with press and analyst interviews, and completed whitepapers that describe the technical and business merits of the standard. We've also embarked on an ambitious project to redevelop the UDDI section of the OASIS website to better support users of the standard. This is an exciting opportunity to help steer adoption of an important standard. Nominations close on August 30. Elections are expected to run 2-19 September or until a quorum is reached, and will be won by the three candidates receiving the most votes. The current Steering Committee is very interested in expanding the number of available seats in response to member interest.
