Mr. Medrano is Executive VP for Digital Evolution.  Mr. Medrano is co-founder and CEO of Hispanic-net www.hispanic-net.org, a non-profit organization to develop high-tech business from Hispanic entrepreneurs.

 

Mr. Medrano was selected as one of "The 100 most influential Hispanics in 2001". Mr. Medrano has delivered an IPO and rounds of financing for three companies. He has served in boards of more than 10 profit and non-profit organizations.. Mr. Medrano has started at the beginning of 3 industries: Electronic Design Automation, Open Systems and Computer Security. He has been at one fortune 20 company, 2 fortune 200, and two IPOs.   Mr. Medrano is a member of Technet ( www.technet.org ). He has served in numerous boards. Mr Medrano helped create the Firewall, intrusion prevention and Content security segments of the Internet Security Market. Mr. Medrano has extensive experience with start-ups and large companies. Mr. Medrano was CEO of PoliVec, a leader in security policy automation. Before PoliVec, Mr. Medrano was one of the top 100 Sr. Executives at Hewlett Packard. At HP he had 7 divisions developing Software and he served a vital role as head of HP's key strategic emerging businesses. While at HP, Medrano led a number of initiatives focused on developing new products and solutions designed to facilitate all aspects of electronic commerce. Some of these efforts include Security, middleware, management, web services, and CRM.

 

Medrano has received numerous awards for business and product achievement from leading business and industry publications including Fortune, Red Herring, PC Magazine, InfoWorld, PC World, Data Communications and others. He has also published numerous articles and quoted several thousand times. Mr Medrano currently is a member

of Presidents Bush National Security Advisory Council.

 

Prior to joining HP, Medrano was president of Finjan, a leading security software firm. He also served as vice president of Milkyway Networks and has held executive positions at Avnet Inc. and Sun Microsystems Inc. Medrano holds a master's degree in business administration from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), a master of science degree in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California (USC). 

 

Recognized as an international expert in the field of Internet security, Roberto Medrano travels the world educating business, government, academia and law enforcement about the importance of ensuring security, privacy and trust on the Internet.

Active member on President Bushs National Security Advisory Committee, The White House National Strategy to Secure Cyberspace., and participated in President Clintons White House Security Summit. Mr. Medrano helped to create the firewall, content security and security policy segments of the security market.

      

 On February 15, 2000, Medrano was selected as a participant in President Clinton's White House meeting on cyber security, which brought together influential technology industry leaders and senior administration and Cabinet officials. The meeting, which is part of an ongoing dialogue between the administration and the private sector, examined how the federal government and private industry can work together to enhance the security and reliability of the Internet.
