2006 Board and TAB election details.

Voting Reps,

As you know, the OASIS Board of Directors and Technical Advisory Board
ballots are now open. Your participation in these ballots is important, the
winning candidates will be representing you and all members for the next two
years in the Board and TAB.  The ballot is scheduled to close 26 June.

The members of OASIS have nominated a very impressive slate of candidates
from which you can choose. The candidates provide a great variety of
perspectives from Professor to CEO, candidates for reelection and candidates
with new points of view.  We have candidates from several continents, with
equally diverse technical expertise. All the candidates deserve your review
and consideration. You may review the Board candidates at

candidates at http://www.oasis-open.org/private/elections/2006tab/  The
ballots are found at

In the coming weeks, you will receive some email via this list from the
candidates who want you to know more about them.  This list is now open to
all members' posting, but we expect all postings to this Voting list to be
specific to the open ballots.  We will also have the
member-discuss@lists.oasis-open.org  list available for general member
dialogue about the candidates and election process.

Looking at the ballot, the list of voting member organizations will show, by
default, the Primary Contact for each organization.  Alternate Voters have
access to the ballot, but are not shown unless they cast their
organization's vote.  In this way we preserve the representation of one vote
per member organization.

Lastly, we are asking you to make some tough decisions between many very
qualified candidates.  Therefore, Board and TAB ballots are private, so you
can vote freely.

Please do not hesitate to ask any questions as we move through this year's
elections.  Your participation is important and we are here to help you
through that.
