OASIS WS-BRSP TC Meeting

10 July 2014, 11:00am to noon PDT

0. Call to Order and roll call

Jacques Durand calls the meeting to order and welcomes everyone.

1. Administrative

 1.a- Minutes May 29 meeting:

The May 29 minutes as available at https://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/ws-brsp/201406/msg00000.html are approved by unanimous consent.

 1.b- BP12, BP20, RSP10,  next steps after CS approval

* Committee Specifications BP12, BP20 and RSP10 have been published

Our Committee Specifications BP12, BP20 and RSP10 have been published; see: https://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/ws-brsp/201407/msg00001.html

- Next step is to move these specifications to OASIS standards. 

- For this step at least 3 Statements of Use are required. 

- Jacques will follow-up with possible organizations who can provide such a Statement of Use.

AI for Jacques: talk to implenters (MSFT, Oracle, IBM) to get their statements of use of profiles.

- Moving these specifications to an OASIS standard requires the TC to setup a ballot.

Process for moving to OASIS standard: https://www.oasis-open.org/policies-guidelines/tc-process#OASISstandard

The length of the Candidate OASIS Standard public review, if greater than the required 60 days.

 2.  Follow-up on upgrading BSP11 for later versions of SHA:

Jacques (Fujitsu): oE0014  Signature Digest algorithm  version of SHA algorithm in use (SHA-1, or one of the SHA-2 algorithms).

Gershon Janssen: testing tools are still focused on SHA1

- in new BSP definition proposed, there is a bit of relaxation as SHA-1 is no longer required or recommended.

- for BSP we made material changes, so another PR is required

- Gershon Janssen: (informal) do we have consensus on moving to a CSD and subsequent PR?

MOTION: : the current BSP1.1 upgrade proposed in: https://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/ws-brsp/document.php?document_id=53349

is acceptable for progressing further BSP1.1 as a committee specification, and direct the chair to prepare a package ready for balloting

as CSD + PR candidate.
