Subject: DRAFT MINUTES - 28 April 2016 - WS-BRSP TC Meeting

----------------------------------------

0. Call to Order and roll call

* Roll call:
Jacques Durand (Fujitsu)
Pim van der Eijck (Sonnenglanz)
Gershon Janssen (Individual)
Ram Jeyaraman (Microsoft)
Rebecca Searls (RedHat)

Observers:
Tim Link (IBM)

Apologies:
None.

1. Administrative
Gershon reports on the WS-I SC meeting of 15 April 2016:
- US trademark status is unclear; OASIS is looking into this.
- WS-I Web site. Decided to shut down last year, but got reports showing large number of visitors. SC is now investigating the visitor's profile to determine what next steps are best.

2. Current status
- Profile usage
EU Essence project upgraded BSP to SHA256. Although the project upgraded BSP to SHA256, there is no perceived need to get this officially reflected in the specification.
RedHat uses BSP1.1 with SHA1; they have no need to upgrade at this point.
Conclusion: at this time there is no more motivation for the TC to work on BSP upgrade than in past months.
Test tools: no demand or question about them from users (although the EU community wrote their own test tool)

- EU report
Pim reports on involvement in the Essence project where many standards are being used, including AS4 which uses BP. The project uses BP2.0 and BSP.
To implement test assertions another testbed is implemented that includes BP2.0 testing, called Minder, see email https://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/ws-brsp/201511/msg00000.html
Use of BSP1.1 with SHA256 derive similar requirements as in the profile, transposed for new SHA256.
Use of testbed is mostly conformance testing (AS4 and Essence subset of AS4).
The testbed uses a scripted approach to test exchanges product A --> product B (message structure). Reporting against a central node is used, so no need to pass along log files (live testing). A controller can send "test messages" with instruction of what to do. Gets back a report. Can simulate time-out, etc.

EU Commission support for AS4 conformance testing (based on Minder testbed) https://ec.europa.eu/cefdigital/wiki/display/CEFDIGITAL/eDelivery+Conformance+testing

- Users requests
No new user requests.

3. Next meeting
Proposed schedule of meetings: if no event or topics, this TC will meet every quarter.
Next meeting will be tentatively planned for the second half of July 2016.

4. Adjourned
Meeting adjourned at 11.48am PDT

Kind regards,

Gershon Janssen
