Participants can be added to the context and associated with a specific
protocol.  Given that this allows multiple protocols to be used by the deriving
specifications, how is this reflected in the context type?  The context type
only consists of a list of participants and makes no reference to the protocol
for which they have been registered.

I would argue that this information is of limited use for any context other than
those with a single protocol type.
