Subject: RE: [ws-calendar] PIM WD08 uploaded

This is good stuff, Bill.

On today’s meeting agenda: Discussions of the “yellow” parts and, lower priority, discussion of the “missing examples”

Please download the latest full version, at least, for discussion.

I will try to apply the conformance rules to streams this weekend to generate “real world” comments on the conformance requirements.

Subject: [ws-calendar] PIM WD08 uploaded

You've already gotten the individual upload notices. When you look in the repository the clean PDF (authoritative) is the visible (and most recent) one, with other versions, EAP, XMI, doc as earlier revisions.

Summary of changes:

  • Many minor editorial fixes for clarity
  • References updated - Daboo & Douglass Vavailability, Douglass Relationships
  • Model changes - moved tolerance from DurationValueType to Interval
  • Eliminated DurationStringType as it's no longer needed
  • Updated model and all affected diagram
  • Clarified separation of relationship and temporal relationship wrt Mike's Internet Draft (point for discussion)
  • Clarified constraints on using ToleranceValueType attributes together, and suggested that constraints are in order and to be documented in PSMs.
  • Included examples based on WS-Calendar 1.0; others in progress are in the EAP and will be sent as PNGs when I've finished reviewing context descriptions with Toby
  • Included more text on PIM-PSM mapping for WS-Calendar and a simple example of CIM time intervals and sequences compared to PIM intervals and sequences.

There's some duplication (between Primitive Types section 4.2 and Tolerance & Duration section 4.7; needs to be rationalized.

A number of yellow highlighted areas need to be improved.

I'm going to put my comments in Jira; WD07 and WD08 are released versions in Jira so you can enter issues against WD08.

Suggestions, as always, are welcome.

Thanks!

bill
