Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] (WSCALENDAR-509) 2 Architecture - Normative?

    [ https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/WSCALENDAR-509?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=41259#comment-41259 ]

William Cox edited comment on WSCALENDAR-509 at 7/20/14 3:56 PM:
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Consider making the architecture informative only.

We must be aware that conformance must reflect how a conformant PSM references, uses, and maps the architecture, and if the architecture is informative, how does that fit with a requirement to show mapping? However, the normative requirement is that the Rules (informed by the definitions) are followed, and that any mapping of architectural component names mentioned in the Rules be desribed.

Consider combining with Section 6 Architectural Basis for the PIM (Non-Normative)

> Is any part of Section 2 Architecture normative? I see a great deal of discussion of what the proposal is going to do but nothing that makes any normative demands on an implementer of this proposal. Yes?
