Issue: editorial - clarify that the DigestValue element inside the Reference element should be populated with the computed digest value

 

Details: The Section 8.2 describes a step-by-step procedure for creating a full signature from compact signature. The Step 3 describes creating a ds:Reference for each ID in the d:Security/d:Sig/@Refs and instruct the user to compute the digest of the message part identified by this ID. Proposal is to add the clarifying text for this.

 

Current Text:

For each ID in d:Security/d:Sig/@Refs create a corresponding XML Signature Reference element to the identified part (using URI fragments) annotated with the canonicalization and digest algorithms from the scheme in d:Security/d:Sig/@Scheme. Note that individual digests need to be computed on the fly.

·         Add a ds:Reference element.

·         The @URI attribute's value is a "#" followed by the specified ID.

·         Inside the ds:Reference element add a ds:Transforms element that contains a ds:Transform element indicating the selected canonicalization algorithm.

·         Inside the ds:Reference element add a ds:DigestMethod element.

·         Inside the ds:Reference element add a ds:DigestValue element.
