Subject: Action Item #127: Draft ballot questions for CommitteeSpecification electronic ballot

I was asked to pull together the draft ballot questions that we
will need to vote on during the Committee Specification electronic ballot. I
gratefully acknowledge Ram’s invaluable assistance with this action item,
based on his experience with previous similar motions for the WS-RX, SX, and TX
specifications. The proposed text of the ballot questions is in the attachment and
included below. Note that there are two questions associated with each spec –
one on the approval of CD4 as CS, and the second authorizing the approved CS to
go forward to final OASIS approval. Please note that the motions for DPWS and
WS-Discovery include the “designated cross-reference change”
provision to allow them to be updated on the fly to track the approval state of
the referenced specs being voted on contemporaneously. Pardon me for being
presumptuous about the approval of CD4 and that there will be no further
changes, but if there are we’d just have to make the necessary
adjustments to this text. Please try to find the time to review these soon, send comments to
the list, and be prepared to discuss them on our teleconference. According to
our timeline, we will be voting on May 5 to submit these motions (with any
agreed amendments) to the TC Administrator to conduct the CS electronic ballot,
but it would be good to have any concerns worked out before then. Best regards, --
