Subject: FW: Proposed Exit Criteria for WS-RA Specifications discussed on2009-09-30
FYI, please see below what’s being discussed in WS-RA as requirements for interoperable implementations. DPWS implementers could help move the WS-RA specs along in the process by helping produce implementations of WS-Eventing (in particular), WS-Transfer, and WS-MetadataExchange (the last two being a bit harder because we use such small portions of them in DPWS). You may want to consider asking your organizations if it’s possible for you to help the process by providing implementations of one or more of the specs. -- Toby Toby Nixon | Senior Standards Program Manager | Windows Devices and Networking Technologies | Microsoft Corporation toby.nixon@microsoft.com | www.microsoft.com | V: +1 425 706 2792 | M: +1 206 790 6377 | F: +1 425 708 4811 From: public-ws-resource-access-request@w3.org [mailto:public-ws-resource-access-request@w3.org] On Behalf Of Bob Freund Proposed Exit Criteria for WS-RA specifications: 1) all mandatory features implemented by all implementations 2) Each optional feature must be represented in at least two interoperable implementations 3) Any implementation used to test an optional feature must implement all mandatory features 4) Two interoperable implementations means two different code bases from two different companies 5) All implmentation used for testing must be conformant to the specification as defined by the spec Concerns heard during the meeting on: -the necessity of the two different codebases being from two different companies -the potential need for combinatorial testing of optional features |
