Subject: Steering Committee election results and next steps

Congratulations to the winning candidates

Doug Davis
Mike DeNicola
Micah Hainline

They will hold their seats on the Steering Committee until the
December 2013 election cycle.

One Steering Committee seat remains vacant following this election.
This creates two issues to address at the next SC meeting.

- The MS Policy requires an odd number of seats, you have 8 filled
- The vacancy

The SC has two options to solve these issues:

Option 1. Initiate a Special Election to fill the vacancy

Option 2. Reduce the size of the Steering Committee

Your Rules of Procedure governs the size of the Steering Committee and
the process by which to change the SC size:

The maximum number of Steering Committee members shall be nine (9).
The number of Steering Committee members may be changed only by a vote
of two-thirds (2/3) of the votes cast by the Member Section Qualified
Electors in an electronic ballot, and such that it is consistent with
OASIS Member Section Policy. If Steering Committee membership falls
below the designated number due to resignation, OASIS membership
lapse, merger, job change, etc... a special election will be held to
fill the vacant seat(s) unless there is less than six months remaining
on the vacated seat. In this case, the seat will be elected during the
next annual Steering Committee ballot.

Hope that helps,

Scott...
