Subject: Re: [ws-rx] New Issue: Harmonization of Line Numbers accross PDF,DOC versions of working draft
Duane, Could you provide some idea how you propose to see this problem fixed? Line numbers depend upon little things like page width and, therefore, printers and printer drivers. PDF files have the nice feature of laying the text out once and scaling the entire page to fit the space on a printed sheet. I propose we close this issue with no action. We as a group should remember to treat line numbers in the available PDF files (and they should always be available) as normative. thanx, doug On 17/08/05 15:05, Duane Nickull wrote: > Title: Line Numbering Consistency > > Description: I noticed that the line numbers in the working draft are > not consistent upon different serializations of the same version of > the WD. > http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/download.php/13454/WS-Reliable%20Messaging-01-draft-01.doc > > http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/download.php/13493/WS-ReliableMessaging-v1.0-wd-01.pdf > > > These two vary at at least one place (line 502 to 550). > > I have not read the *.sxw version to see if it is consistent. > > Related Issues: any that reference line numbers of the working draft > without specifying if they mean the *.PDF or *.doc > > Origin: Duane Nickull > > Owner: Duane Nickull > > Proposal: > > for now: All references to include the document format as well to be > specific > > for later: editors to fix in next version of WD. >
