Subject: RE: [ws-rx] Possible new issue on Terminated Sequence Memory in RMD
I would have thought "unknown sequence" is the correct alternative. Otherwise the RMD would be divulging information. I consider this case the same as the response from an OS to a request to open a file when the program does not have rights to see the file. The best answer is simply "no such file" NOT "no access rights" since the latter acknowledges the existence of the file. /paulc Paul Cotton, Microsoft Canada 17 Eleanor Drive, Nepean, Ontario K2E 6A3 Tel: (613) 225-5445 Fax: (425) 936-7329 mailto:Paul.Cotton@microsoft.com > -----Original Message----- > From: Tom Rutt [mailto:tom@coastin.com] > Sent: November 30, 2005 5:21 PM > To: wsrx > Subject: [ws-rx] Possible new issue on Terminated Sequence Memory in RMD > > Before I post a new issue request I would like to float this first on > the email. > > When a sequence is terminated, does the RMD have to remember the id of > the terminated sequence. > > If a request comes on a terminated sequence, is the "unknown sequence" a > valid fault response. > Is "TerminatedSequence" an alternative valid fault response? > Is either response allwed, or is one prefered to the other? > > Tom Rutt > > -- > ---------------------------------------------------- > Tom Rutt email: tom@coastin.com; trutt@us.fujitsu.com > Tel: +1 732 801 5744 Fax: +1 732 774 5133 >
