DA
policy assertions: I think we are getting close to a solution. I am OK
personally with the direction taken in previous mails, for the mark-up. This
mark-up does not seem to allow for InOrder alone, but I think its acceptable
that InOrder always be used with another DA.
DA definitions:
After communicating current proposals to reviewers behind PR
issues 09 and 20 , they simply don't understand the new DA defs proposed by Matt
and Chris.
- They don't care about how far the RMD is processing the
message ("process to completion") - they only care about delivery, and what
happens in case of no delivery .
- They don't understand either why these
DA defs now only apply to messages that have already been received and acked.
From their user perspective, they are familiar with reliability assurances that
engage the entire RM layer (sender+receiver) - if a message goes in on one side,
what assurance do we have it wil go out on the other side, and how, and what
level of awareness if not.
They understand
better the original DA defs as stated in this TC about 1year ago. These DAs
definitions were closer to the usual notion of reliablity, as defined in
other messaging systems (e.g JMS, or in JMS BC), or also in network transport
layers.
Given this, I believe the original DAs are probably the
most agreable, even though they could be refined (see my previous
mail).
In order to move on, I propose we just reuse these old DA
definitions, or at least stay very close to them.

[ws-rx] Close all issues this week!
Folks
I think we need to
attempt to close our remaining issues this week.
In particular, I would
like Chris and Jacques to make sure that there is a final concrete proposal for
the DA issues on the table before the meeting, with enough time for people to
review it.
We also need a concrete proposal from Gil on his new issue
38.
