Subject: Re: [Info] docs.Oasis-Open.org Path Issue

Hi Kevin,

Thank you for contacting us for help.

WS Trust was produced by the OASIS Web Service Secure Exchange TC. This version became an OASIS Standard in March 2007. That TC closed in November 2020 and is no longer active.

While the TC is no longer active, its comment mailing list, as is OASIS practice, remains open. I am sending your query to that list as some of the TC members may still be available and able to comment. If you want to subscribe so that you can receive any emails back, you can do so following the steps at https://www.oasis-open.org/committees/comments/index.php?wg_abbrev=ws-sx

As you note, I see that the full URL http://docs.oasis-open.org/ws-sx/ws-trust/200512/RST/Issue does not exist now. The /2200512/ directory exists and it is where the OASIS Standard is published. I am checking with our IT folks to find out whether the /RST/Issue directory ever existed. Â

The only place I find this URL used in the specification is in section 4 Issuance Binding (http://docs.oasis-open.org/ws-sx/ws-trust/200512/ws-trust-1.3-os.html#_Toc162064956) which reads:

"For this binding, the following [WS-Addressing] actions are defined to enable specific processing context to be conveyed to the recipient:

  http://docs.oasis-open.org/ws-sx/ws-trust/200512/RST/Issue..."

It is not clear to me how that section of the standard was intended to be implemented or whether any actual code was intended to be located there.Â

Kevin, let me also ask: you say the URL is 'no longer valid.' Do you know whether it was in the past? Is it possible that some configuration has changed and an error is being generated that was previously ignored?Â

Former members of the WS-SX TC, can anyone shed light on this URL and what was the expectation for the /RST/Issue/ subdirectory?Â

Thanks,Â

/chet

I need some assistance. In our on-Premise SharePoint 2016 Farm we have references to http://docs.Oasis-Open.org that are no longer valid. I believe that this is for a x.509 service.

Â

The full path that itâs trying to access: 'http://docs.oasis-open.org/ws-sx/ws-trust/200512/RST/Issue'.ÂÂ We can Navigate to http://docs.oasis-open.org/ws-sx/ws-trust/200512, but the next level dir RST is not presented.

Â

Can you please provide any information on how we can resolve this issue?

Â

Thanks,

Â
