i066 - SecurityPolicy use cases

Discussion of comments in http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/ws-sx/email/archives/200611/msg00026.html
Document is useful as a companion to the spec to be read as non-normative aid to understanding SP. The Abstract and Introduction don’t accurately reflect this purpose. Rich will address this in the next version of the document.

i081 - Provide policy statements and associated URIs that can be referenced from wsp:PolicyReference statements

Lot's of discussion on this one. Key points below.

Well-known URIs may be useful in some contexts.

Not clear whether the work is appropriate for the SX TC, which is defining a framework. Perhaps more appropriately done elsewhere as a profile.

Raises interoperability concerns:  Framework implementations will be able to process the full policy associated with the URI, but may or may not support the shorthand URI. Implementations would need to advertise policy alternatives for both the full policy and the URI in order to ensure intersection. What is the practical  benefit of the URI in that case?

Concerns expressed the shorthand URIs may complicate policy framework implementations.

Request made for additional time to consider the implications of URIs on policy framework implementations.

Chairs requested that members consider the implications and be prepared to close the issue on the next call.

f) Pending issues
i090 - Description of Strict Formatting seems wrong for EncryptedKey
i114 - Additional algorithm properties, assertions and references needed
i115 - Universal Encryption of UsernameToken (as specified by Appendix D, d.4, 3.) seems wrong
i116 - Is Appendix D Normative?
i117 - Element or Content Encryption on SignedEncryptedSupportingTokens Assertion
