I am a Computer Science Engineer in the Distributed Systems Dept of Lawrence Berkeley National Lab.  My work as a collaboratory tools designer has involved programming in several lagnauges (including Java, C/C++).  I am currently working on an open source workflow component of a larger project (the Pervasive Collaborative Computing Environment, described at http://dsd.lbl.gov/Collaboratories/pcce.html).  This component is using BPEL to automate execution of workflows.  I have read the BPEL4WS 1.1 spec and have experimented with a few implementations (Collaxa evaluation version and bpws4j-2_0 from IBM).  I have written and deployed Web Services on the Unix platform (specifically with Axis under Tomcat on linux).
