Subject: updated spec editing status

Dieter,
Thanks.  I closed the rest of the action items you worked on.
I thought you or Rania also applied the remaining bit of 82.3 and 302 (action items 133 and 134) and verified this in the version you posted to the TC.  However, it seems that the new words for 302 in section 13.3.4 didn't get added exactly as intended (see http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/wsbpel/200607/msg00008.html).   The result doesn't read right.  What was added is the exact motion that was passed:
"Adding declarations of variables, partner links, and correlation sets in existing scopes MUST NOT be done if they hide existing declarations that are used by existing constructs in the scope."
But, it is part of a bulleted list that starts: " A valid executable completion MUST NOT add:  " and should have been reworded to fit that context.  The wording that fits with the bulleted list is :

"declarations of variables, partner links, and correlation sets in existing scopes if they hide existing declarations that are used by existing constructs in the scope."

I'll open an action item to catch this and close 133 and 134.

Assuming 82.3 and 302 are done, remaining issues to be applied now are:
Issue 84        Require Static Analysis Description & List  (close when 247 fixes are applied)
Issue 105        XML namespaces used in spec and examples need to be defined
Issue 240        Glossary term to encompass variable type, element, messageType (Since we don't have a glossary, not sure whether there is further action required on this)
Issue 247         What goes into the static analysis table?  (This can be closed when the fixes we decided on in the last call are applied)
Issue 294.1        Clarification of normative status of XML Schemas and decisions on preferred design patterns
Issue 294.2        Clarification namespace usage in Abstract and Executable Process
Issue 298        Partner Relationships

Remaining open action items are:
30        Update status section with template wording from OASIS and remove hyperlinks . replace with references.
48        Clarity of extensible 'things' in 12.7
50        Inconsistency between import section and BNF/Schema
51        Check updates for Appendix on processor MUST reject the process ..
60        Spell checking
62        Verify that we are using the latest OASIS spec template and whatever style rules they have
77        editing team - make sure there is consistent font treatment when terms are defined.
80        Cross reference in Section 8.3
83        Section 8.2.6, propertyAlias and multiple nodes
88        Cross reference for control dependency rule, Section 11.6.2
95        Apply Issue 259 (rename of ForEach Attribute to successfulBranchesOnly") resolution to XSD's
97        Editors: Consider moving 12.4.4 into it's own 12.x section during public review.
99        Editors:  use vertical bar syntax to indicate exclusive-OR syntax, as per the syntax at the beginning of 12.5
113        Attribute 'target' in compensateScope is not optional as indicated in chapter 5.2 with the '?' in the basic syntax.
137        Correct wording for resolution of issue 302

Re: [wsbpel-spec-edit] [wsbpel] I RELEASE THE PEN NOW - VINKY IS NEXT

>>>>>   I RELEASE THE PEN NOW - VINKY IS NEXT   <<<<<

I finished the following to-do items:
- Issues 291, 292, 297, 301, 303, 304
- Action Items 71, 136, 41, 108, 135

I checked two documents into CVS:
- "wsbpel-specification-draft.doc" revision 1.164 - with change tracking
- "wsbpel-specification-draft.doc" revision 1.165 - without change
tracking - candidate for approval as committee draft

I also uploaded these documents to the OASIS website:
- "wsbpel-specification-draft revision 1.164.doc" - with change tracking

http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/wsbpel/download.php/19383/wsbpel-specification-draft%20revision%201.164.doc
- "wsbpel-specification-draft revision 1.165.doc" - without change
tracking - candidate for approval as committee draft

http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/wsbpel/download.php/19384/wsbpel-specification-draft%20revision%201.165.doc

Peter, please remove issues 291, 292, 297, 301, 303, 304 from the list of "
Resolved issues awaiting editing into spec".

Diane, please close the spec editing action items 41, 108, 135. If there is
no objection (see remarks below), also close action items 19, 35, 39.

Vinky, please have a look at the following changes for static analysis:
- With issue resolution 303, we have a new item, temporarily named [
SA00081a]
- With issue resolution 304, item [SA00049] has been deleted
- With action item 71, item [SA00047] is now referenced in five places,
the static analysis table entry has all five backward links

Additional Remarks for the Editing Team
- Action item 41: indentation (3 blanks) and syntax highlighting created
with Eclipse XML editor
- Action item 41: I found more example snippets in Appendix D after I
uploaded the documents - I will finish this work on another cycle in a few
days :-)))
- Action item 19: IMO, this one is done and can be closed - the reference
section is now revised
- Action item 35: IMO, this one is done and can be closed - replaced by
issues 294.x
- Action item 39: IMO, this one is done and can be closed - different
color highlighting for syntax/examples is done, captions are not needed

Finally, note the Word sometimes has trouble with a large number of changes
- I could not always view the complete document with the "Final Showing
Markup" view AND in the "Print Layout" - the version where all changes are
accepted works fine.

Kind Regards
DK

I volunteer for 133 and 134.

What's the way to do this so I don't mess with the version control. I don'
thave access to the CVS. If someone from the editing team sends me the
latest draft, I can make these updates and send it back to them to commit.

thanks,
Rania

     These included  63, 24, 46, 59, 64, 125, 129, 16, 25, 28, 53, 57, 68,
     74, 79, 84, 94, 96, 100.  I suppressed the individual emails

Is there anyone who has some free time to devote to editing?  We have

editing into the spec.  84 and 247 have been applied by Vinky, but he
noted 3 problems in his email (

http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/wsbpel-spec-edit/email/archives/200607/msg00000.html
)

that we need to address before we declare the static analysis table
