Subject: RE: [wsbpel-uc] Agenda for today's call.

John,
A very belated apology for not attending the call on 4th.
I was travelling and had limited access to email.

Re:
3) WS-I Supply Chain scenario. Harvey suggested this but there has been
no activity. We need volunteers to step fwd and build out the catalogue
entry and sample BPEL/WSDL.

I don't know what you and Harvey plan to do for (3).
However, I am currently working with a large customer Supply Chain
project and hope to see how WS and BPEL can be used for this project.
If it proves to be appropriate, I was planning on submiting a scenario
based on the real customer project. I won't be able to do so until
mid-december at the earliest and do not know if that will be too late.

Please let me know if mid-december (after the f2f) is too late to even
try.

Thanks,
Yin-Leng

Subject: [wsbpel-uc] Agenda for today's call.

Hello all,

It appears that many people are OK with having the call today at 1 PM
PT. Please accept my apologies for the last minute rescheduling.

I would like to use this time to review/discuss opportunities before us:

1) Sid's EAI scenario. I believe this is almost complete. Some of the
information in the template still needs updated. We also need a
volunteer to finish the sample BPEL and WSDL. Please consider
volunteering if you have time.

2) Simpl-EB scenario. The catalogue entries are complete. We need a
volunteer to finish the sample BPEL and WSDL - I was hoping to do this
myself but have not had a chance to do so. Please consider volunteering
if you have time.

3) WS-I Supply Chain scenario. Harvey suggested this but there has been
no activity. We need volunteers to step fwd and build out the catalogue
entry and sample BPEL/WSDL.

4) Chris has been discussing an OAG scenario - there may be an opp to
combine this with #1 (Sid's EAI scenario).

5) IBM has published some ideas on using BPEL with RosettaNet (see
http://www-106.ibm.com/developerworks/webservices/library/ws-rose3/).
This would be an ideal scenario. We need volunteers to step fwd and
build out the catalogue entry and sample BPEL/WSDL.

6) Monica forwarded a link to WSCI's Use Cases. We need a volunteer to
review this list and identify which ones we can reuse.

7) Issue 5 appears to be a candidate for a "bottom up" scenario. We
need volunteers to step fwd and build out the catalogue entry and sample
BPEL/WSDL.

8) Monica posted a suggestion that BPEL Multi-Start Behavior might be a
candidate for a "bottom up" scenario:

"BPEL Multi-Start Behavior and a potential use case.
I believe this would be a good premise for a use case, with some of the
following inputs or parameters:

    * Cases could include (different flows) to show how potential these
different scenarios technically are applied in a business
environment.
    * Take Thatte's suggestion of a potential case: Trade settlement
example the buy-side and sell-side entities may be up two
different operations on the same portType.
    * Decide if there could be different paths given the outcome desired

      - not of the technology but of the business case that is being
realized. We may be able to use the auction environment example
      that has been cited.
    * In this case, multiple receives could occur and be accepted in
      order to make a buy-decision.
    * Variables can vary. Factors could include: Time, maximum number of

receives, for example Define invoke behavior given variables
    * Determine if you specify eligible for createInstance or whether
      context impacts that.
    * Determine if this could be implemented in the same or separate
concurrent but related processes - Answer if they are dependent.
    * Determine how is this affected when the process is bound. "

We need volunteers to step fwd and build out the catalogue entry and
sample BPEL/WSDL. Seems to be a pattern here. :)

Again, I apologize for the last minute rescheduling and hope you can
call in. Below is the call-in information:

Subject: [wsbpel-uc] Defer call to tomorrow?

Hello all,

I've got to be out of the office all day today to meet with customers.
Can we reschedule today's call for tomorrow? What time would work best
for everyone?

Please accept my apologies for the last minute notification.

Sincerely,

John Evdemon
