Subject: Issue - 105 - XML namespaces used in spec and examples need to be defined

This issue has been added to the wsbpel issue list. The issues list is posted as a Technical Committee document to the OASIS WSBPEL TC pages on a regular basis. The current edition, as a TC document, is the most recent document with the title in the "Issues" folder of the WSBPEL TC document list - the next posting will include this issue. The list editor's working copy, which will normally include an issue when it is announced, is available at this constant URL.

Issue - 105 - XML namespaces used in spec and examples need to be defined

Status: open
Area: Technology concepts
Date added: 17 Mar 2004
Submitter: Ron Ten-Hove
Date submitted: 16 March 2004
Description: The specification, including examples, makes use of various XML prefixes without always clearly defining them. This has lead to some confusion during discussions on the [wsbpel-implement] list, and will doubtless confuse some readers of the final specification if this is not addressed in some fashion.
Submitter's proposal: A possible solution is to include a table of prefixes used within the document, and the name space URIs to which they are assigned, in the introductory material at the beginning of the specification (perhaps section 2, Notational Conventions). (This has become a common practice in other XML-based specifications that make use of multiple XML name spaces.)
Changes: 17 Mar 2004 - new issue
