Subject: [wsbpel] Issue - 159 - Ordering specification sections by dependency

This issue has been added to the wsbpel issue list. The issues list is posted as a Technical Committee document to the OASIS WSBPEL TC pages on a regular basis. The current edition, as a TC document, is the most recent version of the document entitled in the "Issues" folder of the WSBPEL TC document list - the next posting as a TC document will include this issue. The list editor's working copy, which will normally include an issue when it is announced, is available at this constant URL.

Issue - 159 - Ordering specification sections by dependency

Status: open
Categories: specification editing
Date added: 4 Aug 2004
Submitter: Yaron Y. Goland
Date submitted: 04 August 2004
Description: In order to make sure that a spec is maximally readable it is very useful to create a dependency graph of major concepts presented in the spec. One can then use the graph to order the specification so that one doesn't try to explain a concept before first explaining the concepts upon which it depends. Inevitably such graphs has cycles but typically such cycles are few and can be dealt with through a combination of forward references and introductory material that provides enough overview to allow early sections to be understood without having to first read the later sections upon which they depend.
Submitter's proposal: That we produce such a graph and use it to re-order the specification.
Changes: 4 Aug 2004 - new issue
