Subject: issue - 111.1 discussion for May 25 TC meeting

On the last call, we discussed Alex's proposal to start a web ballot to rescind the resolution to 111.1 and adopt his original proposal.  On  consideration with him, we decided it would be more appropriate to complete discussion on the proposal before the ballot was started.  The following is the text of the proposed web ballot that we will discuss on the call May 25:

Please indicate your choice on whether to rescind the resolution of Issue 111.1 and replace it with the original proposal in the issue description with the modification to change <annotation>  to <extendedBy>.  The resolution to Issue 111.1 as approved at the Mar. 8-10 f2f meeting can be found at:   http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/wsbpel/200503/msg00085.html
The original proposal to issue 111.1 is available at:

Minutes for the meeting discussion where 111.1 was resolved can be found at:

Further comments comparing these proposals are available at:

http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/wsbpel/200505/msg00094.html  and

Note that beyond changing the resolution to 111.1, this ballot has implications for issue 111, in particular whether option 1 in the proposal to resolve issue 111 as described in
http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/wsbpel/200505/msg00089.html will remain in consideration.  If this ballot fails, option 1 will be eliminated (because it would in effect bring us back to this same proposal to rescind the resolution to 111.1).  If this passes, option 1 will remain as a possible resolution along with other options and possible amendments (e.g. adding <extendedBy> to option-2 and option-3).  In either case we will hold a separate ballot for 111 after the usual TC discussion.

Note, this is a binding, normative vote, not a straw poll.
