Subject: Fw: agenda for Oct 19

The next call of the WS BPEL TC will be on Wed. Oct. 19 at 8 am Pacific.  Dial in info is: USA & Canada Toll Free Number: +1 866 500 6738, Pass code: 600345, All Others (toll): +1 203 480 8000, Pass code: 600345.  We will use an irc chat at:    http://webconf.soaphub.org/conf/room/wsbpel  Note this is a different URL than was used for the Oct. 12 meeting but will be the one we use going forward.

Summary of Oct 12 call:
- Next f2f confirmed for Jan 10-12, 2006 at IBM in RTP, NC (local airport is Raleigh-Durham).  I will get more details as we get closer.  Anyone who is a citizen of China, Hong Kong or Macaw, and doesn't have a US greencard or citizenship, should let me know before Dec. 1 if you plan to attend - due to the Lenovo transition, there are certain clearances we'll need to get - it shouldn't be a problem but can take 30 days.
- 222:  passed motion to rescind previous resolution and motion to resolve with:  close issue by instructing the editors to amend the spec to state that a message cannot be received if it does not match the stated correlation sets, except for the case where the an <invoke> is on a request/reply operation, and the *reply* fails to match the correlation.  In this case, the reply *is* delivered to the process, and correlationViolation is thrown.
- 11:  discussed new proposal - will require rescinding issue 48.  Ron to update proposal with comments and resend.
- 125:  rescinded the friendly amendment to issue 157 and passed Part b of Alex's proposal as a replacement (see   http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/wsbpel/200509/msg00074.html ) including an amendment (in bold italics here).  Resulting resolution: When the to-spec selects a TII (e.g. Text node in XPath 1.0) as LValue, and the TII does NOT belong to a WS-BPEL variable of an XSD string type or a type derived from XSD string , and one of the followings is computed or selected as RValue from the from-spec:
- a TII which has zero Character Information Item
- an AII which has an empty string as its [normalized value]
- an EII which has zero Character Information Item as its descendants, that is its [children] and nested [children]. (Note: applying XPath 1.0 String() function to
this kind of EII would yield an empty string) bpws:mismatchAssignmentFailure fault MUST be thrown.
Part a of the resolution to 125 passed with no objections.
Part c: moved and seconded.  Vote deferred to next week to allow consideration of improved wording for the fault.

Proposed agenda for next meeting:
- Nomination/volunteers to take minutes for this call
- Roll call/determine quorum
- Review/accept minutes from  previous meeting(s) - Oct 12

- Review agenda
- Subgroup reports as available
- Specification Editing status

- Issue discussion.  Note we will follow the agreed to process of limiting discussions of any issue on calls to no more than 30 minutes at the end of which the person who made the motion can choose to table to next meeting or force a vote (without requiring 2/3 majority to stop discussion).   Those who want to continue to discuss need to go off line to work the issue.  At next meeting progress should be reported – or issue will go to vote with original proposal.  If issue goes to a vote process starts again as above.  If results of offline discussions result in amended proposal to vote, the new proposal should be provided to the TC in advance of voting meeting.
Proposals to vote
- 125 part c
- Motions to open new issues
- 11
- 82.3 - if spec language received
- 82.2  - if spec language received

Long running issues
-> issue 9: deferred pending inclusion of 84 in spec
-> 99: defer pending 82.3
-> 120.2: defer pending 123 closure

Agenda for next meeting
New business
Note that our list of issues with proposed resolutions is getting short - please review any open issues and consider making proposals.

Regards,
John Evdemon and Diane Jordan
