Subject: Groups - Action Item Modified: #0069 Clarify the behavior of optional...

OASIS Web Services Business Process Execution Language (WSBPEL) TC member,

Ms Monica Martin has modified this action item.

Number: #0069
Description: Clarify the behavior of optional...
Owner: Unassigned
Status: Open

Comments:

In the F2F Monday 3/20, we discussed a need to clarify the behavior of optional extension element children in extensibleAssign. No issue or action item appears to exist. Issue #250 doesn't address this. Suggest:

"If an element under extensibleAssign is not recognized by a WS-BPEL processor and its mustUnderstand is "no",
that extensibleAssign operation is not ignored."

If this necessitates normative language, open an Issue.

Modified to correct typo.

In TC call 18 April 2006, decided to revise the text and integrate into resolution of Issue 266. The proposed accepted language was:

If the element contained within the extensibleAssign element is not recognized by the WS-BPEL processor and is not subject to a mustUnderstand="yes" requirement from an extension declaration then the extensibleAssign MUST be ignored.

Proposed by Mark Ford. This closes this action item.
