Subject: Re: [wsdm] Announcing HP contribution: Web Services Management Framework

Would you like me to find some time on the agenda for you to present your
work?
How much time do you think you would need?

Subject: [wsdm] Announcing HP contribution: Web Services Management
       Framework

WSDM TC partners,

I would like to bring to your attention an announcement that HP made this
morning, regarding our work in the area of web services management. HP
announced a web services management framework and a suite of specifications
that will help address various aspects of a management framework, for
management of web services and other resources, using web services. The
web
services management specifications that are part of the web services
management framework include:

    * WSMF-Foundation: A specification that defines a web services
based set of mechanisms and interfaces for creation of managed
objects, their management capabilities, and a model neutral
approach in exposing the information model that is related to
      these managed objects.

    * WSMF-WSM: A specification for management of web services based
      on WSMF-Foundation.

    * WS-Events: A specification for support of events for web
services, providing various subscription, and notification
      models.

We believe the combination of these three specifications will provide a
solid foundation for creating a management solution for web services and
other resources, using web services. Please refer to the following link
for
further information and documents related to the web services management
framework.

We also believe that this work is relevant to the ongoing effort in the
WSDM
TC. Therefore, HP would like to contribute components of these
specifications for consideration and approval toward standardization for
MOWS based on MUWS. We look forward to an opportunity to present this work
to the WSDM TC at our next face to face in Raleigh and further discussions
among the TC members.

More information and perspectives from other companies and analysts are
available in the press release:

Best Regards,

William
