Subject: RE: [wsdm] Groups - Primer with Heather's updates forMetadataand Extending capabilities (wd-wsdm
I don't understand your objection to "primer", Kirk. American Heritage defines a primer as "a book that covers the basic elements of a subject"; I don't see any implication that a primer is not standalone * the contrary, really. But I have no objection to using "document" in the place of "primer" in the sentence: we certainly aren't producing a book, after all... "This introduction" is ambiguous: the sentence occurs in the section titled "Introduction". What primer? Where is it (in relation to the document they are reading)? Perhaps refer to "this document" or "this introduction". I noticed in this version, a number of occurrences of "WSDM" in the Primer Introduction were changed to the more technically correct "MUWS" or "MOWS". However, for the reader, the distinction between MUWS and MOWS is not introduced until section 1.2.4.2. Doesn't the change assume that the reader is already going to be familiar with the organization of the specification before reading the introduction? --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from this mail list, you must leave the OASIS TC that generates this mail.
