Subject: [wscm-comment] WebServices Patent
I was wondering if any of you have any thoughts on the ramifications of this: http://www.zdnet.com/zdnn/stories/news/0,4586,2820857,00.html The government sector's requirement for a single-sign-on authentication/authorization certification service and, therefore, a single-sign-on entry to Web Services could very well be impacted by this patent, or conversely, any insistence on keeping that information freely available, and under no copyright other than an individual's control of his/her personal profile data could be enforced via the simple expedient of the government's ability to endure any legal process designed to merely bankrupt a less monetarily endowed entity.
