Subject: RE: [wsn] [IMPORTANT] Special WSN conf call for vote
Hi all, Quick update (and reminder) about tomorrow's conf call. WS-Topics is not yet in shape for a committee draft vote so we won't vote on it tomorrow. Here are the links to the latest versions of WS-BaseN and WS-BrokeredN: Base: http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/wsn/download.php/13434/wsn- WS-BaseNotification-1.3-draft-01l-3.doc Broker: http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/wsn/download.php/13431/wsn- WS-BrokeredNotification-1.3-draft-01g.doc Note that in both cases there might be an update posted before the call with minor changes that the chairs brought up to the attention of the editors (a.k.a. pestering the editors). In any case, all changes will be tracked in the Word doc and we can go through a quick list of any change between new versions and the versions referenced above at the beginning of the call tomorrow if desired. Again, participation is crucial to these votes so please come for the short call. Conf call info in the email below. We will use the usual call-in number: Toll Free Access Number: 866-639-4730 Toll Access Number: 574-948-0377 Participant PIN: 4474535 This call is scheduled for only 30 minutes and the agenda is simply to: - approve the editors drafts as Committee Drafts - send the newly approved Committee Drafts for public review The plan is to have the editors publish the draft by end of Friday this week, giving TC members a chance to review them ahead of Thursday's vote. These votes require a "Full Majority Vote" which means that more than 50% of voting members must approve for them to past, independently of the number of people present on the call. We have 23 voting members, which means that we need at least 14 yes votes. This is the last chance to get to public review on time to be out of public review for the September face to face. After this public review, the TC can make changes to the spec to address comments (from members of the TC as well as external reviewers). Any change to the specs require a new public review period, but this time of 15 days rather than 60 days. After some number of such public reviews cycles (minOccurs="1" maxOccurs="unbounded"), the TC has to take a "Special Majority Vote" to promote the spec to Committee Specification and then go on to OASIS-level vote for standard status. Please make sure to attend this short conference call so we can have enough participants. Regards, William
