Subject: Comments on [wsn] Groups - WS-Topics draft 1.3c
(Initial) comments on wstop: 1. Section 2: third bullet under the definition of Topic (as well as line 719) refers to "Situation". Situation (the capitalized, technical term) is now defined only in wsnt. There should be some acknowledgement that this is a special-use term is defined in another spec (otherwise, why is it capitalized?) or else the definition should be substituted in this text. 2. Line 231: TopicExpression dialects are now defined in section 8 in this version. 3. The wstop:TopicNamespace/@location attribute is not documented in the text (see p. 12). (Is @location intended to be an example of anyAttribute? If so, should that be clearer in the text?) 4. Line 353 shows the value of the MessagePattern element as wsrp:QueryExpression. Was that intended to be wsnt:QueryExpression? 5. I'm unclear about what @namespace attribute is being referred in line 368. There is no @namespace defined for either TopicNamespace or Topic. Was targetNamespace intended? 6. I would recommend changing the title of section 8 to TopicExpression Dialects. Dialects are being defined in this section not the (wsnt:)TopicExpression element. Also, is a rationalization offered any where for why there is both a Topic Set document as well as the wsnt:TopicExpression element? IMHO, they seem to be providing essentially the same information (in different ways), but perhaps I've missed something. Kirk Wilson Architect, Development Office of the CTO 802 765-4337
