Subject: F2F Meeting Suggestion and Call for Papers for WCCIA 2006
Dear Members, As we talked at the last teleconference meeting, I suggest we have our first F2F meeting at Korea, in conjunction with WCCIA 2006 (International workshop on Collaborative Computing, Integration, and Assurance). Date and Place: April 27-28, 2006, Kolon Hotel, Gyeongju, Korea Web Site: http://asusrl.eas.asu.edu/srlab/wccia.html Since the major topics of WCCIA are SOA and Web Services, TC members can have a chance to publish their research papers in an international conference and also we can have a chance to introduce our WSQM TC to the conference related researchers. Please raise your opinions. - Dugki P.S. Please redistribute the attached call for papers. Thanks! ------------------------------------------- Call for Papers WCCIA 2006 The 2nd International Workshop on Collaborative Computing, Integration, and Assurance With an emphasis on service-oriented computing, modeling, and simulation April 27-28, 2006, Kolon Hotel, Gyeongju, Korea (http://asusrl.eas.asu.edu/srlab/activities/wccia/) in conjunction with the 9th IEEE International Symposium on Object and component-oriented Real-time distributed Computing (ISORC) April 24 - 26, 2006, Kolon Hotel, Gyeongju, Korea (ISORC 2006, http://www.rtselab.org/~isorc2006/) and Workshop on Software technologies for future Embedded & Ubiquitous Systems (SEUS) Scope Service-Oriented Computing (SOC) and Web Services (WS) form a new paradigm of computing that changes the way we develop and use computer software. Under this new paradigm, all computer programs or components are given a standard and platform- independent programmable interface, and be stored in an internet-searchable repository. The accumulation of available components or services makes it possible to compose applications completely based on existing services. Once the model of a system is developed, which consists of components and the relationships/ interfaces among the components, the executable of the system (application) or the simulation of the application can be automatically generated, if the functions of the components can be performed by existing services. Furthermore, an application can be modified at runtime. An application can dynamically discover newly available services, use a new service to replace an existing service (reconfiguration), and recompose the system based on a modified model (recomposition). The new computing paradigm imposes new challenges and opportunities for modeling and simulation research. This year's WCCIA workshop devotes to exploring the new techniques and applications of modeling, and simulation in service-oriented computing paradigm. The topics include but not limited to: o Specification, design, and implementation of service-oriented architecture o Model-driven development o Architecture-based development o Modeling languages o Model-based simulation o Distributed simulation o Service-oriented system engineering o Modeling and simulation of Web services and service-oriented applications o Performance evaluation of Web services and service-oriented applications o Dependability evaluation of Web services and service-oriented applications o Quality assurance of Web services and service-oriented applications o Trustworthy computing over the Internet o Tools supporting Web service development o Infrastructure supporting service-oriented architecture and Web services o Web service experimentation environment o Web services searching, discovery, remote invocation, and monitoring o Dynamic Web services composition, configuration, and reconfiguration o Web services testing, reliability assessment, and ranking o Test case generation using formal methods and model checking o Applications of trustworthy Web services, for example, in supply chain, banking, travel services, and mission-critical tasks. o Collaborative verification and Validation o Reliability, security, safety, and trustworthiness of web-based computing Workshop Chair Wei-Tek Tsai, Arizona State University, USA Email: wtsai@asu.edu Program Chairs Yinong Chen, Arizona State University, USA Email: yinong@asu.edu Dugki Min, Konkuk University, Korea Email: dkmin@konkuk.ac.kr Technical Program Committee Xiaoying Bai Tsinghua University, China Farokh Bastani Univ. of Texas at Dallas, USA Guilan Dai Tsinghua University, China Satoshi Fukumoto Tokyo Metropolitan University Hai Huang Intel Corporation, USA Chi Chi Hung Tsinghua Software Institute, China Yoko Kamidoi Hiroshima City University, Japan Nobuyasu Kanekawa Hitachi Co., Japan Helen Karatza Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece David Kung University of Texas at Arlington, USA Juanzi Li Tsinghua University, China Yinsheng Li Fudan University, China Hong Mei Beijing University, China Yukikazu Nakamoto University of Hyogo, Japan Akira Onoma Hosei University, Japan, Ray Paul Department of Defense, USA Hiroshi Suganuma Hitachi Software Engineering Co., Japan T.
