Thanks Nikola, it's starting to come back to me.  Yes, we are retreading 
old ground when talking about how sequence numbers may be used. 
Hopefully, we're coming at it from a slightly different angle today.  I 
don't, for example, remember anybody mentioning an issue with having 
more than one unique identifier for a message.

I should also mention that you and SHIMAMURA Masayoshi were talking 
about a very different protocol than what's in ebXML Messaging 2.0.  The 
sliding window feature was removed and the (optional) sequence number 
"relegated" to message ordering purposes after the time of these threads.
