Subject: Re: [wsrp-dev] What is interaction state?
The specification defines interactionState as: "interactionState: Opaque representation of transient information for use in processing this invocation of performBlockingInteraction. The value for this field is supplied through the portlet URL parameter wsrp-interactionState (see [Section 9.2.1.4]). " The point is that the URL causing the performBlockingInteraction operation to be called can supply any state it wishes to the processing of the interaction request. How that state gets serialized into and deserialized out of this opaque representation is the responsibility of the Portlet, though the Producer will often provide that functionality.
