I agree with Eilon's conclusion to not enforce a maybe limiting session
sharing model in WSRP. If we allow the consumer to group portlets to
different sessions we have the best of the two worlds: if required portlets
can namespace data they do not want to share even if there is a shared
session. They either use a constant prefix or their entiy ID for this. Both
is possible without any modifications of the interface proposed in the
draft spec. Parameters they want to share are not prefixed at all or with a
prefix known to all participating portlets.Best regards

Eilon,
Can you elaborate on your conclusion that we shouldn't enforce a model?
I am not really sure how we can have our cake and eat it too. Either our
model requires a key or its doesn't or its a hybrid that allows both. I
would prefer not doing that later as it seems messy in the interface (and
complicates it).

Carsten and team,Attached are some additional thoughts on sessions -
in particular how people may want to use sessions in a different way
that I am not sure works very well with our current approach.Eilon

As promised (though a bit late) here is a sketch of my current
understanding of the notion of sessions.
