Subject: Groups - Interfaces concall modified
Interfaces concall has been modified by Mr Michael Freedman Date: Thursday, 15 June 2006 Time: 08:00am - 09:00am PT Event Description: 1-888-967-2253 or +44 118 924 9000 (Europe) meeting ID: 345337 passcode: 060606 Agenda: 1) Discuss encoding an event in a portlet URL proposal (Stefan) 2) Discuss Mapping to events portion of Rich's session property proposal. (Rich) 3) Discuss getResource NavState issue from the perspective of Ajax use as described in Mike's e-mail. (Mike) Minutes: 0) Subbu requested we add an item to the next agenda to discuss setting priorities for issues we work on. 0') Rich encouraged folks to begin using the wiki vs email/Interface documents directory to enter new proposals. He also encouraged folks update the wiki directory with comments vs e-mailing. We agreed this was a preferred pattern. 1) encoding events in Portlet URLs: Stefan was on holiday so this item was tabled and will be picked up in 2 weeks (next concall). 2) Event Mapping: Rich provided overview of his three proposals. Noted this proposal is hosted on the wiki and encouraged direct input on the wiki vs. sending e-mails so ideas are captured inline. Briefly discussed question of event naming, synchronizing state via events, and producer caching changes when they occur in a GetMarkup. Concern was raise on synchronizing via an event related to performance and endless cycles. 3) getResource navState management and Ajax: Main topics is: How does the consumer manage navState when its submitted in a getResource URL? Mike, presented a Ajax use case (that relies on getResource) that showed how one would get better state management (bookmarking, refresh) support if the answer to the question is the Consumer treats the navState in a getResource semantically the same as in a getMarkup. Some time was spent describing how a consumer could implement this and what the benefits/extended semantics were with respect to Consumer leaving the NavState constant. Discuss was tabled at this point for people to reflect and will be taken up in 2 weeks.
