Subject: RE: [wsrp-wsia] [I#95] destroyEntities() & refHandles

The tentative resolution reads like this "Draft v0.7 does not allow refHandles to be passed to
destroyEntities() as the semantics are to destroy the persistent entity,
not a runtime refinement of it."

This resolution does not cover the second question "What are the semantics for destroying entities that
have active sessions on them?", and thus does not resolve the whole issues.

I propose that the following be added to the spec (in the destroyEntities operation) - "the Producer MAY return a fault [should be defined] if the Consumer is destroying an entity that has active sessions on it. The use of these sessions after the entity is destroyed is undefined".

Subject: [wsrp-wsia] [I#95] destroyEntities() & refHandles

Status: Tentative Resolve
Topic: Entity Mgmt
Class: Technical
Raised By: Rich Thompson
Resolution Date: 22-Oct-2002
Title: destroyEntities() & refHandles
Date Added: 19-Sep-2002
Document Section: Interfaces/5.2
Description:
At the F2F we separated releasedHandles() into 2 operations, one of which
is destroyEntities(). We also began the exploration of what the signatures
would look like with a unified refHandle that encode both entityHandle and
sessionID. What semantics do we want to define for a refHandle being passed
to destroyEntities()? What are the semantics for destroying entities that
have active sessions on them?
