Subject: [wsrp-wsia] [change request #164] Namespacing Portlet URL Parameters
Document: Spec Section: 10.3 Page/Line: 64 / 18 Requested by: Mike Freedman Old text: If, during Consumer URL rewriting, the Consumer adds namespace perfixes to parameter names within the URL (note this does not include field names in HTML forms), then the Consumer MUST remove those prefixes befoer passing the parameter name to the Producer so that the Producer receives information in the manner it placed it in the markup. .... Proposed text: Consumer URL and form processing has been designed so that namespace prefixing is not needed to qualify portlet URL parameters, portlet form parameters, or resource URL parameters. This allows consumers to avoid unnecessary processing when dispatching client requests. Portlets choosing to namespace such elements MUST be prepared to receive these parameters with their namespace prefix still attached as Consumers MUST never remove any prefixes. Reasoning: Clarity
