Subject: RE: [wsrp][all] WSRP Special Phone Call at May 23rd

Hello,

Ok, that is what I thought.

As a final clarification, does this means that every WSRP service must meet
the requirements for a WSIA service? I was confused by today's discussion
where some WSIA requirements were deleted form the WSRP requirements. It
would seem that all WSIA requirements would be WSRP requirements and that
WSRP would only add requirements. What am I missing?

Thank you.

Joe Rudnicki

Hi Joe,

1. Yes, there will be WSIA services that are not WSRP services. WSRP
defines aditional operations that WSRP services must have in order to plug
and play with portals, also they are aware of user profile info etc.

2. No, all WSRP services will be special WSIA services since they will
implement certain basic WSIA operations and provide for pluggability and
portal functionality on top of that.

3. Yes, WSRP services will also be WSIA services, see 2.

Lothar, can you please post the location of the next face to face on the
web site ?

Best regards,

Thomas

Hello,

I have listened to two WSRP-all conference calls, a WSRP-WSIA joint
interfaces call and a couple of WSRP-interfaces calls. I went through some
archived email and minutes. Therefore, I am just starting to understand
what
is happening. However, I am confused by the relationship between WSIA and
the WSRP.

It would probably help if someone could answer the following questions:

1. Will there be WSIA services that are not WSRP services? If so, what are
some examples?
2. Will there be WSRP services that are not WSIA services? Examples?
3. Will there be services that are both WSRP and WSIA services? Examples?

Also, what is the location of the next face to face?

Thank you.

Sasha, thank you for writing the minutes !

Monthly Sub-Group Reporting

Interfaces & Protocol (Mike) 5 min
Pub / Find / Bind / Metadata (Mike) 5 min

I propose these steps going forward to the face to face:

WSRP/WSIA Common Interfaces:

(Spec Editor) and Rich to work on this with their group)
- Consumer-Producer interaction diagrams for illustration

WSRP Interfaces & Protocol:

(Spec Editor) to work on this with Mike and his group)
- Consumer-Producer interaction diagrams for illustration

(Spec Editor) to work on this with Mike and his group)
- Consumer-Registry-Producer interaction diagrams for illustration

WSRP Markup Fragments:
- Produce spec chapter strawman for discussion at the face to face (Jeff
(Spec Editor) to work on this with Chris and his group)

WSRP Security, SSO, Identity:
- Produce spec chapter strawman for discussion at the face to face (Alan or
Jeff (Spec Editor) to work on this with Mark and his group)
- User-Consumer-Producer interaction diagrams for illustration

The spec strawmans should contain annotations with rationales or any
remaining open questions in addition to the actual proposed interfaces,
formats and behaviors. Where no agreement has been reached yet,
alternatives should be listed.

WSRP Whitepaper:
- Produce first version of WSRP Whitepaper (Thomas)

Best regards,

Thomas
