Subject: Re: [wsrp] Action redirects to self
We said the redirect URL is an absolute URL properly encoded. I.e. there can't be no rewrite URL and the Consumer is not forced to rewrite the URL. I think we went even one step further. The redirect URL is really just an external URL leaving the WSRP context. There is no wording that the Consumer should embed the URL in it's page URL, etc. And this is what we stuck with in 1.0 (and if I recall also in 2.0). We talked about portlet addressability in this context and postponed it to 3.0. As I recall the interop tests, every redirect URL was such an absolute&external thing, making the user to leave the Consumer context. Mike, I'm not exactly sure what you are trying to accomplish with this. For example a performBlockingInteraction returns different types of rewritten wsrp urls. wsrp render url: This would be very similar to the normal action of most portals after a performBlockingInteraction. wsrp action url: This would cause another performBlockingInteraction on the particular portlet. This would have to be carefully used since it could result in a loop. But in theory it could be used to do performBlockingInteraction, performBlockingInteraction and then a render. wsrp resource url: This would just use the portal as a proxy to obtain the resource. But the user probably has left the portal now. Mike is this correct assumption in how the redirect would work with wsrp rewritten urls?
