Subject: Seeking voting WSS TC membership [Was: RE: Request to join Web Services Security TC Processed]
Steve, I requested WSS TC membership through the on-line tools last Wednesday, and received the attached message in reply. Based on its text, I had been awaiting another message to confirm that Member status had been granted before requesting Voting Member status, but have so far received nothing further concerning membership status though am now receiving WSS list traffic. The OASIS site currently shows my status as "Applicant". I'm also cc'ing Rob Philpott, my organization's primary OASIS representative, who had not received a request to approve my participation as of last Friday. I would like to begin the process of qualifying for Voting Member status on tomorrow's call (26 July); is this possible? Thanks, ... --jl -----Original Message----- From: workgroup_mailer@lists.oasis-open.org [mailto:workgroup_mailer@lists.oasis-open.org] Sent: Wednesday, July 20, 2005 4:14 PM To: Linn, John Cc: wss-chair@lists.oasis-open.org Subject: Request to join Web Services Security TC Processed Welcome to the Web Services Security TC. Your request to join has been processed. Whether you requested Prospective Membership or Observer status you should have automatically been subscribed to the WSSTC e-mail list and you should start seeing messages soon. If you requested Prospective Membership, and you are an employee of an OASIS member organization, an email has been sent to your organization's primary OASIS representative. Your primary representative must sent email approval of your request for TC Membership to the TC chairs. After receiving this approval, you will be granted TC Membership, with all the related IPR obligations. If you are an Individual Member of OASIS, no approval is necessary to become a TC Member. After becoming a TC Member, if you would like Voting Member status, you must make a separate request via email to the TC chairs and myself. You will then begin a probationary period which lasts until the close of the third TC meeting or 60 days, which ever comes first. During this probationary period, you must attend 2 out of 3 meetings, or your probationary period will end, and you will remain a non-voting Member. Upon successful completion of the probationary period, you will receive formal notification of your Voting Member status. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me or Kelvin Lawrence or Chris Kaler, the WSS TC co-chairs. Regards Steve Anderson BMC Software OASIS WSS TC Secretary
