Subject: [wss-primer] Use cases description format

Title: Possible times for WSS Primer and Use Cases Tele-conf
We may want to refine or adopt the use cases description format used in the SAML TC's
Use Cases and Requirements document:

http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/security/docs/draft-sstc-saml-reqs-01.pdf

The WS-Security requirements will be captured normatively in the core specification,
which we probably want to cross-reference with the use cases that we categorize
as in-scope.

thanks,
Zahid

Subject: PRIMER: WSS Primer and Use Cases

Hi All,

We are far enough along, now, that we can make a good start on a primer
document.  I would like to set up a call in the near future -- I'll
sponsor the dial-in line.

Even for a small group like this one, scheduling is going to be a bear.
I'm planning to use only 30 minutes this first time, so please give me
three (or more) one-hour blocks in the next week that work for you.

At Zahid's (excellent) suggestion, I have asked that we get a separate
mailing list (sent request to Kelvin and Chris on 10/17).  I have not
heard back from Kelvin or Chris, so we can get status on that tomorrow.
Until then, please maintain the above subject line so that we only
occupy a single thread on the main list (better suggestions, anyone?)

I'm thinking that the output of our work will be a single document,
primer and then UCs, with the UCs categorized as in or out of scope for
the current spec.  This is just my thinking, though, so it is open until
we make a decision.  I would especially like input and guidance from
those who have been around the standards-body track a few times...

Preliminary agenda for first call:

        1) administrativia
           - who will be the archivist for UCs?
           - how will we communicate (separate mailing list, shared
archive space at OASIS??)?
           - ...
        2) Discussion (and decision, if feasible) as to structure of
deliverable(s)
        3) Creation of timeline for our work
        4) Etc.

Please give me feedback on this agenda -- again, those who are older and
wiser in standards work should feel free to help structure this in a
useful and productive way.

Thanks,
        Erick Herring

I wanted those who prioritize the reading of stuff where they are on the
'To:' line to pay attention :-)
