Confirmation of appeal effects

WSS TC members:

    This will confirm that the ruling ("response") issued at http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/wss/200512/msg00001.html stands, and unless further appealed, leaves the TC free to pursue the planned work that was the subject of the appeal, if it chooses to do so.  Of course any such work still is subject to the various voting and approval rules that apply to the TC and its work under the OASIS TC Process.

    In discussing the ruling and its consequences, some parties noted that some of the profiles that have been completed by the TC, but not named in the charter (such as the Username token profile), do not necessarily indicate an intent to expand deliverables, because those methods were included in one of the original contributions.   That appears to be correct, but does not change the conclusion regarding the TC's scope.
