election of new chair

XACML TC members:

With the resignation of Simon Blackwell as chair of the XACML TC, we
need to conduct an election for a new chair. Lacking any co- or
vice-chair who can take over in the short-term, I've consulted with
Simon and with Ken, who have asked me to conduct an election.

So, we'll do this:
- Nominations for the position of chair for the XACML TC will be
accepted via this list until the end of day Friday 14 September. (You
can nominate yourself.)
- By end of day Monday 17 September I will expect each nominee to send a
statemment to the list regarding his/her ability and willingness to
serve. (Note: nominees must be a current voting member of the TC.)
- The voting will take place during a one week period starting Tuesday
the 18th and ending the end of day Monday the 24th, during which time
nominees are free to make any campaign speeches :-) and others may make
endorsements or criticisms as you see fit.
- I will declare a winner at the beginning of the day of the 25th.

A quorum of members must vote for the election to be valid; Ken: please
send me a list of voting members today so I know who may vote.

If anyone has any complaints aboout the manner in which this is being
conducted please speak up quickly so we can resolve it right away.

P.S. While I'm at it, I would like to express my appreciation to Simon
for the wonderful work he has done getting this TC started and running
over the past several months. I think that this TC has done some great
work so far, and I expect to see some great results too. We all owe
Simon a vote of thanks for his efforts.
