Hi Bill, hi Hal,
Jamie and I have been exchanging emails today around the TC's desire to submit XACML V3.0 OS to the ITU.
The OASIS policy on submissions to other SDO's requires that the TC vote on a Special Majority ballot to request OASIS make the submission even for submissions of updated copies of an OS. I can't find any record of a motion the TC minutes to request a Special Majority Vote and also I don't see where one was done. So Abbie can do nothing at this point.
He let us know that you are trying to make a date for an ITU meeting, so here is what we can do to help.
- I can start the Special Majority Vote right away if you wish. I won't ask for a motion from the TC. There has been enough discussion in the minutes to make clear that the TC wants to move forward.
- Jamie and I can work to get the submission package ready so that we can act expeditiously once the Special Majority Vote closes and the email to Laurent is received.
On the requirement for interop demos for OASIS Standard submissions, if it is the judgment of the TC that the new version isn't distinctly different enough to require an interop demo, we can wavie that requirement.
If I have missed or misunderstood anything, please point me to the correct information. If not though, this is what we'll need to do to proceed.
Would you like me to start the Special Majority Vote? Also, just the ITU or there a particular group within the ITU that should be mentioned?
Thanks,
/chet
