Today the International Biometric Industry Association (IBIA) published
Volume IV, Number 9 of its online newsletter, "Biometrics Advocacy
Report."
The newsletter is available online at http://www.ibia.org/newslett.htm.

This week's edition, introduced by IBIA Chairman John Siedlarz, contains
articles on two major infrastructure projects that will profoundly
influence
the mass deployment of biometric technology: the Transportation
Security
Administration's ID program that calls for all transport workers to be
issued biometric-enabled smart cards; and the Enhanced Border Security
and
Visa Entry Reform Act, which mandates the use of biometrics on all U.S.
Visas and other travel documents used by visitors to the USA. Also
noted is
IBIA's participation in the upcoming Biometric Acceleration 2002, which
starts on June 10 in Washington, DC. Details on the conference can be
found
at http://www.it-telecomsolutions.com/pages/conferences/biometrics.htm.
