Subject: Re: [xcbf] Proposed revision of spec

Tyky et al,

You should shortly get formal notification from the OASIS software that
I have uploaded a new document.

This is the promised proposed revision of the spec to handle the
EXTENDED-XER issue. (I received no comments on the direction I was
planning to take. Whether that means we only have text to argue about,
i do not know!)

I actually doubt if this document will be acceptable in total, but I
hope you will consider it a useful step in the right direction.

At least most of the issues are now exposed, and we can concentrate on
solutions and actual text.

It would be good to go through the changes in this document in detail in
a NetMeeting on Friday, and accept them, but:

a)	We have not (yet) agreed the use of a NetMeeting format for our
discussions; and

b)	I am unfortunately in Geneva Friday this week delivering a paper on
e-Health standardisation. I will try to attend the telecon briefly, but
that will be suhect to what I can get out of my hotel, comms-wise (I
stay in cheap hotels!).

I may have to leave it to others to argue about what needs changing, and
to agree a way forward.

If I do not see you Friday, please accept apologies for absence, but I
will do my best to get in.

PLEASE NOTE - As an anti-SPAM measure, e-mails will shortly
not be accepted by my machine from an unknown sender unless
the subject contains the phrase "Hi John".

If you pass my e-mail address to others (which I am very happy
for you to do) please tell them to include this phrase in the
subject line of their first mailing to me. Thanks.
