Subject: Minutes of today's telecon

Hi Team,
The "Event Details" click in the URL in the KAVI note below brings us to
the Minutes.
In case you had not clicked, here are the same Minutes, FYI:

                   Minutes:

The agenda proposal was adopted by the TC.
                        1. Walk-thru changes in the latest proposed
revision of spec: John L. did the walk-thru of needed changes
in the CS 1.0 revision level. The TC accepts his
suggestions to provide more clarification to certain areas
                        of the spec.
                        2. Assess all remaining issues: 3 of them were
brought forward (delete ref. to X.693 Amendment 1, delete
ref. to Extended -XER, usage of Base64 for octet
string). Discussions on all the pro and con, on impact
                        on interoperability, development, customs tools,
integration vs isolation within the XML and Web Services
                        community.
                        3. Reach decision on using or not using BASE64 on
octet string: A decision is reached on the 3 options
proposed by John L. 5 YES for Option 1 to Use
Base64 with a clarified write-up, 2 YES for Option 2, no
vote for Option 3. So the final decision is Option
1.
                        4. Next steps: A motion was put forward to nominate
John Larmouth as our official Editor from now on.
                        The motion was accepted unanimously.
Congratulations to John. Thank you for stepping up.
John will make editing changes in the CS to reflect
the decisions we reached in Items 1, 2, and 3 above.
He will upload the CS onto the site for us to
review prior to the next telecon which is on June 6.
                        5. Usage of NetMeeting: We had accepted to use
NetMeeting, when needed, in addition to our bi-weekly
telecon. If you need help in using it, Paul Thorpe
is our main coordinator (Tyky is his back-up if Paul
                        cannot be reached).
Other options, if needed in the future, are
eMeeting or MSN.

Note: In Item 4, there is one action item for John L. to do update editing
and send out, and for all of us to review Thanks.

Best regards,
Tyky
