Subject: Re: [xcbf] Re: xcbf vote status

If we don't get it passed this time, we will resubmit it again in
September. We should be able to retry, right Karl? It cannot die.

This is important stuff for the industry, especially now that Security and
Privacy are the hottest areas of computing, eLegal, eBusiness, eCommerce,
eGovernment, Life Sciences, etc. There is even an Act passed as law already
in California regarding Security and Privacy.

We the companies need this standard to deploy our products and OASIS needs
this formal standard to enhance its prestige, usefulness, richness of scope
and focus.

Yes,we will discuss the next steps tomorrow at our telecon. Here is the
OASIS XCBF TC teleconference info:
Friday 8/29/2003 at 9:00AM Pacific Time.
Length: 1 hour.
Dial in number: 1-866-953-9184.
International: 1-712-238-7535.
Participation code: 781875.

Here is the URL of our TC Web site:

I am afraid I have nothing to offer on how to get the extra votes. I do
believe we have ever acheived wide contact with comnpanies in OASIS that
are not
part of the XCBF work.

We either get the silent and unknowing majority voting YES, or else we have

I guess part of the problem is that we are balloting during the holiday

What happens if the ballot fails? Is it possible to retry? Or does it
just die?

Maybe we discuss that tommorrow - is 9AM pacific time 6pm UK time? I guess
is. I will try to join if I can, but I do not have a lot more to say.

Can you circulate the telephone details? (And confirm the time in GMT or
whatever) I am sure I have these details buried somewhere in old e-mail,
but a
refresh would be helpful.
