Subject: Groups - XDI Schema Proposal V15 (draft-xdi-schema-v15.xsd) uploaded

XDI TC Members and Observers:

In preparing for the f2f meeting this week, I noticed that the v14 XDI
schema did not validate in my upgraded version of XML Spy. It turns out
that we'd set the default value of the "type" attribute of the XRI and
AbsoluteXRI elements to null, however a null value was not given as one of
the enumerated values for this attribute.

However specifying null as one of the values seemed much less clean than
specifying an explicit value. Given that the other two values are "ref" and
"link", the obvious choice was "resource", i.e., the source of this XRI is
a parent resource. This means the three values of the type attribute now
reflect the three roles in an RDF relationship -- something we can discuss
in more detail at the f2f.

In any case, here is the updated schema proposal. If you are not able to
attend the f2f, please do send any feedback to the list.

 -- Mr Drummond Reed

The document named XDI Schema Proposal V15 (draft-xdi-schema-v15.xsd) has
been submitted by Mr Drummond Reed to the OASIS XRI Data Interchange (XDI)
TC document repository.

Document Description:
V15 of the proposed XDI schema in XSL format. The only change was to have
both the XRI and AbsoluteXRI elements use the new XRIPattern type
definition, and to replace the null value of the "type" attribute of the
XRIPattern element with an explicit value ("resource").
